Vuelta a Espana stage 4: Janse van Rensburg 12th on first sprint stage

Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quickstep) won stage 4 of the Vuelta a Espana in a mass sprint to the line in Ejea de los Caballeros.

Stage 4 of the Vuelta a Espana was the first opportunity for the sprinters at the Spanish grand tour, as mostly flat to downhill stage was also supplemented by a predominantly tailwind blowing during the stage.

NTT Pro Cycling had both Reinardt Janse van Rensburg and Carlos Barbero focused on the final as the duo looked to take on the sprint trains of Deceuninck-Quickstep and UAE-Emirates.

It was our South African, Janse van Rensburg, that would have the final go for the line but unfortunately started his sprint from some way back. At the finish it would be 12th place for him on the day. All our other riders also finished safely, which meant Gino Mader once again retained his top 20 placing on GC.
