Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) won the stage 13 ITT of the Vuelta a Espana, and moved back into the overall race lead.
The stage 13 La Vuelta individual time trial was a race of two parts. Firstly a mostly flat 32km was followed by a final 1,8km incredibly steep climb. With gradients reaching 30%, nearly every rider in the race opted for bike change at the bottom of the climb.
All NTT Pro Cycling riders opted to swap their time trial bikes for road bikes at the bottom of the climb, without issue.
Gino Mader was our fastest rider on the day as he stopped the clock 1’56” slower than stage winner Roglic, which was good enough for 20th place on the stage.
We now head into the final week of racing of the 2020 season with the goal of picking up a stage win, before reaching Madrid on Sunday.
