Stage one at the Tour des Fjords got underway in sunny Lindesnes. The 191km stage was relatively flat, ending in Grimstad. There were multiple attacks that the peloton neutralised before allowing the break of the day to form. Three riders initially made to the front, and they were later joined but two chasers. The final break of five contained Carlos Verona (Mitchelton-Scott), Henrik Evensen (Team Joker Icopal), Frantisek Sisr (@CCCProTeam), Pearson (@AquaBlueSport and Gerts (@TeamRoompot)
The peloton worked well together to manage the break’s lead. They were reeled in with 8kms of racing to go. In an uphill sprint, Jakobsen Fabio (Quick-Step Floors) crossed the line ahead of Moreno Hofland (Lotto Soudal) and Timo Roosen (Team LottoNL-Jumbo) Edvald Boasson Hagen finished in 5th place for Team Dimension Data.
