The ‘queen stage’ of the 2020 Tour de France was won by Miguel Angel Lopez (AST) in impressive fashion on the top of the Col de la Loze (2300m).
He saw off the challenge of Primoz Roglic (TJV) and Tadej Pogacar (UAE), the two Slovenians retaining first and second in the GC battle.
Michael Gogl continued to show his fight and his hugely impressive descending skills down the Col de Madeleine (96kph) and entered the final climb with the Maillot Jaune group.
I was a bit behind on the Madeleine so I went pretty fast to get back to the group and I’ll check the speed later but perhaps it’s around 100kph so job done there.
It’s just a crazy climb from the bottom up to here….it’s steep and it’s a mental game just to arrive up here.
