Tirreno-Adriatico #6: Janse van Rensburg sprints to 9th

Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quickstep) sprinted to the stage 6 Tirreno-Adriatico victory, ahead of David Cimolai (Israel Cycling Academy) and teammate, Elia Viviani.

After losing Giacomo Nizzolo after yesterday’s stage, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka looked to Reinardt Janse van Rensburg for today’s sprint finish.

With Ben King in the breakaway all day, our African Team looked could protect Janse van Rensburg in the main pack, until the escapees were caught ahead the bunch gallop.

Our South African found himself without much space to move in the final kilometer and in the end had to settle for 9th place on the line.
