Tomorrow the UCI 2.1 Sibiu Tour will get underway in Sibiu, Romania and Team Qhubeka NextHash will be at the start with a strong team led by Fabio Aru and Reinardt Janse van Rensburg.
It will be a first ever participation at the Sibiu Tour for Team Qhubeka NextHash and we are looking forward to the tough 4 stages of racing in Romania.
The race will get underway with a short 2.5km prologue followed by two mountain summit finishes. The final stage will provide an opportunity for the sprinters.
Team Qhubeka NextHash will have Fabio Aru lead the team in the mountains while Reinardt Janse van Rensburg will be keen on delivering a good sprint on the final day and possibly a fast opening prologue too.
Sander Armee and Robert Power will also be focused on riding well in the mountain stages while the core of the team will be supported by Emil Vinjebo and Karel Vacek.
The Sibiu Tour will be a new experience for most of our team, and a challenge we look forward to. There are some tough stages coming in the next 4 days and as a one of the few World Tour teams at the race, we will look to make our presence felt at the front of the race.
Aru was showing some positive signs in Lugano last week and we hope he will continue his progression here. Armee and Power should also be right there too and to have that extra depth, with a few options on the climbing stages, will be important. The likes of Egan Bernal and Ivan Sosa have won here previously so we can expect it will be only the strongest riders in front.Alex Sans Vega – Sport Director
