Team Qhubeka NextHash is all set to take on the Vuelta a Burgos, which begins tomorrow in Burgos, Spain. The UCI 2.Pro race will once again take place over 5 road stages, with a very strong start list expected to lineup.
The Vuelta a Burgos is again perfectly positioned on the racing calendar, to serve as a final “tuning” race for many, ahead of the Vuelta a Espana – the final grand tour of the season. It is for this reason that the Vuelta a Burgos attracts a stellar field each year, also providing for some very exciting racing in its own right.
Team Qhubeka NextHash will lineup in Burgos with a strong squad, spearheaded by our Italian climbers, Domenico Pozzovivo and Fabio Aru, while Reinardt Janse van Rensburg will be our sprint option for the race.
Sander Armee, Bert-Jan Lindeman, Dylan Sunderland and Emil Vinjebo will make-up the rest of our Burgos lineup, and they will no doubt be key in supporting Pozzovivo and Aru on the climbs and assisting Janse van Rensburg on the group sprint stages.
We have a great team for the Vuelta a Burgos that can be competitive on every stage. This means we will certainly hope to play for a good overall classification but also, a stage win is certainly a target too. As we know, we are up against a high quality start list and the difficulty of the parcour will quickly highlight any weakness, so we will need to be focused and work very well as a team to achieve our goals here.Alex Sans Vega – Sport Director
