Preview: Tour of Guangxi

Our 2018 season will conclude once again with the final World Tour race of the season, the Tour of Guangxi. The Chinese stage race gets underway tomorrow and will span over 6 stages, ending on Sunday 21 October in Guilin.

After a long season, the sun will set on 2018 for Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka in China. The Tour of Guangxi is our final race of the year and our African Team will hope to bring the season to a close on a positive note.

The 6-stage World Tour event presents numerous opportunities for the sprinters, with only stage 4 finishing with a short uphill kick to the line. Team Dimension Data will have a team will suited to the parcours, targeting the stage win daily.

Reinardt Janse van Rensburg will be our protected rider for much of the week, with the South African being our fastest finisher in a group sprint scenario. Mekseb Debesay, Natnael Berhane, Nicholas Dlamini, Jay Thomson, Nicolas Dougall and Bernhard Eisel will complete our line-up for the week.

We’re looking forward to finishing off the 2018 season here in China at the Tour of Gaungxi. The morale is good and team is eager to race here again. Personally, Asia has always been a good hunting ground for me and I look forward to hunt for some results here. The legs and form is good so I hope to show myself here, before finishing off the season.
