It will be a busy weekend for Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka as part of our squad will be heading to the Tour de Eurometropole tomorrow and then taking on the GP Isbergues on Sunday.
The Tour de Eurometropole is a UCI 1.HC event taking place over 200km, right near the Belgian – French border. The race ends with a few local laps in the town of Tournai, and despite a short 1km kicker on the lap, it shouldn’t prevent the sprinters from having their day.
On Sunday we will cross over into France for the GP Isbergues. The French UCI 1.1 category event covers a total distance of 199km, including a number of short sharp climbs throughout the race. The undulations will allow for the opportunists to attack but the mostly flat final will keep the sprinters teams interested once again.
Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will have the sprint finishes in mind, lining up with Reinardt Janse van Rensburg, Ryan Gibbons, Scott Thwaites, Jay Thomson, Nic Dougall, Julien Vermote and Connor Swift.

The stainless-steel sculpture in Isbergues is an unusual structure. Its most probably linked to the metal industry that has been the backbone of the region’s economy. Get your Oakley’s on if the sun is out on race day as the reflections from the sculpture must be bright.
