Preview: RideLondon Classic

Team DiData RideLondon Line Ups

The 4th edition of the RideLondon Classic takes place on Sunday, 31 July and Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka are motivated to take on the course made famous for playing host to the 2012 London Olympic Games.

This year’s RideLondon Classic see’s very few changes to previous editions and riders will be taking on a challenging 200km. A large majority of the route takes place on the narrow roads of the Surrey countryside, which is littered with short sharp undulations. Leith Hill, Ranmore (3 times) and Box Hill will be the main talking points of the route.

Box Hill will be the final climb to be contested and once again it is placed some 50km from the finish. With the race certain to be split into pieces by this point, it will be another fast and exciting chase to the finish at The Mall. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka take to the start with 6 highly motivated riders, aiming to achieve a podium result.

Steve Cummings, Matt Brammeier, Mark Renshaw, Tyler Farrar, Nic Dougall and Jay Thomson will be our riders ready to do the business tomorrow. Cummings is a dark horse in every race he starts and if the opportunity arises tomorrow, you can expect the Brit to grab it with both hands. Renshaw and Farrar provide our African Team with 2 really good fast finishing options while Brammeier, Dougall and Thomson could slip away with any one of the groups that may go clear in the Surrey countryside.

Matt Brammeier – Rider
RideLondon is always an interesting and unpredictable race. We are here at the start with a well-rounded team. We are all motivated to put on a good show as Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka. We have a few options at our disposal tomorrow with some fast guys and others coming off the back of some great Tour de France form. I’m personally looking forward to racing on some home roads again and I’m also looking forward to racing alongside the Rwandan boys. I’m excited to see what these kids can do.
