The Italian Autumn classics continue today with the Memorial Marco Pantani. Tomorrow the Trofeo Matteotti takes place, and Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will be represented at both of those one day classics.
Starting in Castrocaro Terme, the Memorial Marco Pantani will take riders up the well-known Montevecchio climb 3 times, before heading to Cesenatico for 3 flat laps of a city circuit. The 200km UCI 1.1 race should suit the punchy sprinters once again.
The Trofeo Matteotti, a 194km UCI 1.1 classic, takes place solely in Pescara as the route comprises of a 15km circuit that will be completed 15-times. It will be hard to see passed a mass sprint finish as only 3 small uphill sections, of less than a kilometer each will challenge the riders on Sunday.
Team Dimension Data will have the same team starting at both races in Italy this weekend, Ben O’Connor, Lachlan Morton, Scott Davies, Natnael Berhane, Nic Dlamini, Serge Pauwels and Jaco Venter.
