Tomorrow NTT Pro Cycling will take the start in the UCI 2.1 Tour de Alpes Maritimes et du Var, in the South of France.
The Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var is a 3-stage race taking place in Southern France, with the first two stages taking place in the hilly outskirts of Nice. The final stage will see the peloton head toward Toulon for a summit finish on Mount Faron.
With each stage ending with an uphill climb to the line, the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var is a race the climbers and puncheurs will relish. NTT Pro Cycling has selected a strong mixture of classic specialists and climbers for this hilly stage race.
Ben O’Connor, fresh off the back of his stage win at the Etiole de Besseges, will lead our charge together with Louis Meintjes, Michael Valgren and Edvald Boasson Hagen. Completing our lineup will be Reinardt Janse van Rensburg, Andreas Stokbro and Michael Gogl.
Being a very hilly three day race through the Alps Maritime, personally I’m excited to give this race a good nudge. The first day in particular could be very unstable, and with our classics boys here it will be interesting to see how we tackle the race. If our previous races are anything to go by, we will for sure be taking it on.
