Tomorrow Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will be in action at two separate UCI 1.HC events, with a sprint focused squad at the German Munsterland Giro and a strong climbing group heading to the Tre Valli Varesine in Italy.
Our African Team will head to the 198km sprint friendly Munsterland Giro with Mark Cavendish spearheading our team. Cavendish will be joined by Bernhard Eisel, Ryan Gibbons, Jay Thomson, Scott Thwaites, Adrien Niyonshuti, Johann van Zyl and our stagiaire, Nicolas Dlamini.
The Tre Valli Varesine will see Steve Cummings, Serge Pauwels, Lachlan Morton, Igor Anton, Omar Fraile, Kristian Sbaragli, Natnael Berhane and our stagiaire, Amanuel Gebreigzabhier line up in Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka colours. At 192km in length, Tre Valli Varesine will be the last chance for our climbers to fine tune their form ahead of the final monument of the season, Il Lombardia this coming weekend.
Both events provide good opportunities for our African Team to end the season off on a positive note and the top step of the podium will be the target in Germany and Italy. As always, Dlamini and Gebreigzabhier will also look to soak up as much experience as possible with tomorrow being the penultimate race for our stagiaires.
Nicolas Dlamini – Rider
I can’t wait to race Munsterland tomorrow, I think it will be a good race for us and I’m sure we can get a result as a team. Personally, to be racing alongside Mark Cavendish is a dream come true for me. I used to watch him on television when I was younger and now tomorrow, we race as teammates at Munsterland. I still have to pinch myself a little when I think that these will be the guys on my team next year so it is really motivating. I look forward to helping the team tomorrow and learning as much as I can.
