On Sunday, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will be in action at the tough World Tour one-day race, GP Plouay.
This year will see the 51st running of the GP Plouay, Bretagne Classic – Ouest France. The UCI World Tour event is a french classic that takes place over a tough 241km course. Numerous short and sharp climbs populate the entire route, making it one for the classics specialists.
Edvald Boasson Hagen showed good form at last year’s edition of the event and claimed 10th spot for our African Team. This year our Norwegian star will return to Plouay, aiming for a placing higher up on the result sheet. Boasson Hagen will be joined by Nathan Haas, and the Australian showed at the Amstel Gold Race this year that these tough classics are just his cup of tea.
Completing our lineup on Sunday will be Kristian Sbaragli, Jay Thomson, Jaco Venter, Johann van Zyl, Ryan Gibbons and Natnael Berhane.
JP Heynderickx – Sport Director
We look forward to this difficult race. We have some classic riders suited to this type of course and distance, and we have a strong team to back our strategy for the race. Sometimes this race has ended in a sprint and sometimes a smaller group has made it to the line, we will prepare for all scenarios and look to race positively.
