Our European season continues, on Wednesday, where we will lineup for the 50th edition of the Etoile de Bessèges, in France. The UCI 2.1 race will run from the 5th to 9th of February.
Our team will remain unchanged from GP Cyclista le Marseillaise. We have a strong classics styled team, which includes Edvald Boasson Hagen and Michael Valgren. Boasson Hagen and Valgren will be joined by Andreas Stokbro, Michael Gogl, Ben O’Connor and Jay Thomson.
The first three stages are expected to be fast and flat. Stage four, a 139km stage, ends in a summit finish on Mont Bouquet and will play a key role in deciding the general classification. The five stage race will end with a 10.9km individual time trial on Sunday.
“We are all looking forward to the race. We have a strong team here, most of the classics group are racing together and I am excited to really get the season underway. We have already done GP Marseilles and how we rode there as a team is also the goal for the next races. I am really sure if we continue to ride as a team, the results will follow!”

“We had a good start in La Marseillaise and will continue to perform as a team also in Bessèges. There are some stages that fit us very well. For the GC, we will have to play it smart and ride strong. With the wind, some tricky finals and an uphill finish in the 4th stage as well as a hard ITT in the final and fifth stage, there will plenty of opportunities to do so.”
