Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing Team) claimed his second time trial win, finishing ahead of Joey Rosskopf (BMC Racing Team) and Jonathan Castroviejo (Team Sky). Yates (Mitchelton Scott) retains the leader’s jersey.
The second individual time trial of La Vuelta was a 32km course running form Santillana del Mar to Torrelavega. The course contained a mixture of short climbs, making it a tricky course to navigate. The overall stage was won by Dennis (BMC).
For Team Dimension Data, our fastest rider against clock was Steve Cummmings, finishing with a time of 39’46″19. The time was enough for Cummings to finish in place, with his time 1’49” off the winning time. Ryan Gibbons also had strong time trial, finishing ending the day in 38th place. Ben King is our highest placed rider in the GC, sitting in 27th spot.

I think we can say today went according to plan for us. It was a really nice course put on by La Vuelta today, on nice big roads. We had Steve go off early and he gave the course a nudge and placed in the top 20. Ryan also had a solid ride which was a nice surprise and the rest of the guys all finished well and as expected. We look forward to the final week of racing and taking the opportunities that await us.
