Itzulia Basque Country #4: Cummings finishes 15th, Anton 19th in GC

The fourth stage of Itzulia Basque Country, an individual time trial, was won by Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo). Patrick Bevin (BMC Racing Team) secured second place, followed by Vasil Kiryienka (Team Sky). With his performance today, Roglic will start tomorrow’s stage in the leader’s jersey.

Stage 4 was a 19,4km individual time trial, starting and returning to Lodosa. The stage had two long, flat sections, which was well-suited to time trial specialists.

The fastest time of the day was set by Primoz Roglic, who clocked in at 22:26. For our African team, Steve Cummings, set a time of 23:18, stopping the clock 52 seconds behind Roglic. With that time, our British time trial national champion secured us a spot in the top 20, finishing in 15th overall.

Igor Anton, though finishing 1:43 off the pace, sits in 19th position in the GC, as we head to Vitoria-Gasteiz for stage 5. The stage includes 2 category two climbs and one category 1 climb.
