Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec: Dougall features in the break

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec course provided a 201.6km, 15 laps, circuit around downtown Québec. Nic Dougall was in action for Team Dimension Data, featuring in the break of five.

He rejoined the peloton 24km before the end of the stage. The break were reeled in with 17km of racing left. Michael Matthews (Team Sunweb) won the race by outsprinting the peloton. Greg van Avermaet (BMC Racing Team) was in second and Jasper Stuyven rounded off the podium. Edvald Boasson Hagen was our best placed rider, finishing 32nd place.

It was a good day in the break, we were only 5 guys but we worked well together and it took the pressure off our team so that we didn’t have to chase in the peloton. Unfortunately we didn’t get enough time to go all the way but it was good to be out in front having a go.
