The UCI World Tour welcomes the start of the European summer with the Criterium du Dauphine, taking place from 9th June to 16 June, in France.
The 8 stages of this year’s Criterium du Dauphine will once again provide the perfect final preparation for many Tour de France contenders, as a hilly time trial is accompanied by 3 punchy type stages and 4 mountainous stages.
Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will have a few regular Criterium du Dauphine starters, as Edvald Boasson Hagen and Steve Cummings return, having won 5 stages between them at the race in previous years.
Eddy “The Boss” will lead our lineup coming off the back of a successful Tour of Norway last week, where he won a stage and finished 3rd overall. The Criterium du Dauphine will also see a welcomed return to racing for Jacques Janse van Rensburg, after recovering from breaking his collarbone at the Tour de Romandie. Fellow South African, Stefan de Bod will also be one to watch over the 8 days of racing.
“This year’s Dauphine will be my 9th Criterium du Dauphine. I really enjoy this race and I have some good memories from the success I have had here before. I hope to be successful here again with the team, as we head into an important part of the season.” – Edvald Boasson Hagen
