On Sunday, Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will take on the first single day World Tour race of the season, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
After a week in Adelaide for the Tour Down Under, our same team of 7 riders have made the trip to Geelong for the 164km Cadel Evans Road Race.
Our Riders to Watch
Ryan Gibbons – Our young South African sprinter impressed at the recent Tour Down Under where he was able to climb with the best over both the Corkskrew and Willunga Hill.
Michael Valgren – With a punchy finish, Valgren should not be written off for Sunday’s finale.
“Last week was surprisingly good for me and it also gave me a lot of confidence heading into this race. With very much the same peloton starting on Sunday as at the Tour Down Under, I hope to continue capitalizing on my form with a good result here.” – Ryan Gibbons
The opening 100km of the race is rather flat but wind could be a factor. It’s the local laps in Geelong though where two short sharp climbs will create the definitive selections.
