Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will take the start of the UCI World Tour Amstel Gold Race with the complete 2018 podium as part of our lineup, on Sunday.
The Amstel Gold Race will be the first of the three big Ardennes Classics. At 265km in length, it is one of the longest races on the World Tour calendar and with over 35 climbs, also one of the hardest.
Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will be in a unique position come Sunday, having the complete podium from last year’s edition of the race, as part of our lineup.
While Michael Valgren was the victor last year and Roman Kreuziger and Enrico Gasparotto took 2nd and 3rd respectively, Kreuziger (2013) and Gasparotto (2012, 2016) have also both stood on the top step of the Amstel Gold Race.
He said it
“It’s true our team have a very strong lineup on paper for Amstel Gold Race, but then we don’t race on paper on Sunday do we. You have to look at form and there are certainly many guys on rival teams that are really going well at the moment. We are fortunate to have a lot of experience in our team for this race, so we will need to use it all to get a good result for the team. This is such a hard race, but we will fight equally hard for a good result, as this is a big goal week for our team.” – Michael Valgren
