Who we are

We are Team Qhubeka, a purpose-led, high-performance cycling team which uses our platform to inspire hope, create opportunity and support social and economic empowerment.

We are a sports and social movement, from Africa, aiming to build an inclusive global community; united by the common purpose of changing lives with bicycles.

We harness the spirit of Ubuntu and the inherent power of our sport, to do good.

Our Purpose
Team Qhubeka’s unity and strength comes from seeing over the course of eleven years, how bicycles change lives. From the bicycle assembly plant to our team riders, we are a diverse enterprise, building sustainable communities through training opportunities, direct employment and the physical means to move forward. We are globally recognised as a team which has shown the world that it’s only by collaborating and working together that we can truly make a lasting impact.
Better Together
Partnering with Team Qhubeka brings global brand awareness through our purpose-led, shared value approach to making a lasting impact on gender equality, racial equality, access to education, humanity and entrepreneurialism. As our partner, you too become part of our team, sharing not only in competitive success but also in playing your part in the Qhubeka story.
Our Brand
Team Qhubeka has created a brand that is truly unique, combining the excitement and inspiration of competitive sport with meaningful and sustainable support for communities in need. Qhubeka means to move forward, to progress or to carry on. This, alongside our “hand-up” campaign, resonates with the world we live in today.

our Mission

Our mission is clear and we remain focussed and firm in our resolve to foster ambition, create opportunity and change lives with bicycles, using our platform to tell that story.

our Vision

Through the power of competitive sport and collaboration, we envisage a future where cycling is diversified, open to any gender or race, reaching new audiences and playing a greater role in lives across the world – be it as a means of transport for school, facilitating business or as part of an ever-more compelling viewing experience.

our Commitment

We are committed to competitive success: ensuring that our partners are guaranteed return on investment; our commitment to Qhubeka is more than fulfilled; and followers and fans see their dreams realised.

our story

Founded in 2007, Team Qhubeka became the first-ever African cycling team to gain a UCI WorldTour license, in 2016. We achieved our first major win in 2013 when Gerald Ciolek won Milan-San Remo, one of the five Monuments of cycling. We have competed in seven Tour de France’s and notched up 7 stage wins, with Mark Cavendish wearing the coveted Yellow Jersey at the 2016 Tour de France.

2022 saw us return to UCI Continental status as we took the next step in our journey that will see us rebuild, with the intention to return to highest level and once again represent Africa at the Tour de France.
