Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quickstep) won stage 6 of the UAE Tour, sprinting to the victory on the famous Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. Team Qhubeka ASSOS sprint ace, Giacomo Nizzolo placed 6th on stage 6 of the UAE Tour. The European champion found himself at the front of the sprinting pack a few meters too soon, as the 165km stage came down to a mass sprint finish. The UAE Tour will reach its conclusion tomorrow, as the final stage will be contested over a 147km route around Abu Dhabi. Another mass sprint will be expected, with a flat run to the line finishing outside Abu Dhabi.
Simon Clarke will lead Team Qhubeka ASSOS’ charge in two races in France this weekend, which will include a strong defence of his title at the Royal Bernard Drome Classic on Sunday. The Australian rode to a sensational win beating Warren Barguil and Vincenzo Nibali, in very tough conditions in 2020, and says that he feels preparations have gone well as he looks to the upcoming 179km race. That will be preceded by the Faun-Ardèche Classic (171.1km) on Saturday, a race that includes nearly 3000m of elevation and has Remi Cavagna as the defending champion. Clarke’s experience will be complemented by the inclusion of Fabio.
