Mike Teunissen (Team Jumbo-Visma) was somewhat of a surprise winner of the opening stage of this year’s Tour de France. Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansrohe) was 2nd and Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal) 3rd. Brussels played host to the opening stage of the 2019 Tour de France and there was an electric atmosphere around the entire 194km stage. With the famous Muur de Geraardsbergen and Bosberg climbs coming in the opening part of the stage, the sprinters made sure to have things their own way come the finish.
