Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Emirates) won the 2nd stage of the Volta ao Algarve, climbing to victory ahead of Wout Poels (Team Sky) and Enric Mas (Deceuninck-Quickstep). The tough final 8km climb of the 2nd Volta ao Algarve stage did not neccasarily suit any of our Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka riders, but that did not stop Michael Valgren from going toe-to-toe with the specialist climbers. Our Danish star dug deep to match the pace set by Team Sky on the slopes of the Alto da Foia, eventually hanging on to finish in a credible 10th place. Giacomo Nizzolo claimed Team Dimension Data’s second win of the season, taking top honours at today’s final stage of the Tour of Oman. Nizzolo outsprinted fellow countrymen Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain) and Davide Ballerini (Astana). Ryan Gibbons finished in 5th. Nizzolo’s win brings a good week of racing in Oman to an end, where Team Dimension Data where part of the action the whole week with multiple strong finishes, thanks to Gibbons and Nizzolo. After wearing the white jersey for 4 stages, Gibbons finished 5th overall in the Youth category. Jacques Janse van Rensburg was our best placed rider on the GC, finishing 12th overall with.
