Africa’s first ever UCI World Tour team, Dimension Data for Qhubeka have announced a new partnership with British Sports Nutrition Brand OTE Sports as their Official Sports Nutrition Supplier for the 2019 season and beyond. OTE Sports will work closely with Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka’s sports nutritionists to develop bespoke hydration, fuelling and recovery strategies, with riders using their award-winning sports nutrition range throughout the season. OTE Sports are also committing to raise funds for 100 Qhubeka Bikes through a series of fund-raising events in 2019. The opening stage of the Santos Tour Down Under ended in a mass sprint and it was Elia Viviani (Deceuninck – Quick Step) who took the stage honours. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka had much to smile about as our South African sprinter, Ryan Gibbons, got up for a fine fifth place finish. For Gibbons and Team Dimension Data it was just the positive start to the season we were looking for. With another sprint stage tomorrow, the South African sprinter will have his eye on a placing slightly higher up on the finish sheet before our GC contenders, Tom-Jelte Slagter, Michael Valgren and Ben.
