Stefan Kung (BMC Racing) won the final individual time trial stage of the Tour de Suisse, making it the perfect day for BMC Racing as Richie Porte had no trouble retaining the overall race lead, to win the Tour de Suisse outright for the American Team. For our African Team, with no TT specialists in our lineup, it was a matter of getting through the stage. Our Basque climber, Igor Anton, was fastest to the finish line in Bellinzona for us. Tom-Jelte Slagter and Merhawi Kudus both finished in the middle of the field today, ensuring they went on to finish the Tour de Suisse.

Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo) won the final individual time trial stage of the Tour of Slovenia and with it, the overall title too. Jan Tratnik (CCC Sprandi) was 2nd on the stage and Josef Cerny (Elkov – Author) placed 3rd. The final stage time trial of the Tour of Slovenia was never going to be a day for Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka to set the race alight, with the only objective being for Amanuel Ghebrigzabhier to hang on to a decent overall GC position. Jaco Venter would set our African Team’s fastest time of the day, +2’05” down on the time of stage winner, Roglic..
