The bunch sprint from the first stage at the Tour des Fjords was won Jakobsen Fabio (Quick-Step Floors). Moreno Hofland (Lotto Soudal) finished second, ahead of Timo Roosen (Team LottoNL-Jumbo). Stage one at the Tour des Fjords got underway in sunny Lindesnes. The 191km stage was relatively flat, ending in Grimstad. There were multiple attacks that the peloton neutralised before allowing the break of the day to form. Three riders initially made to the front, and they were later joined but two chasers. The final break of five contained Carlos Verona (Mitchelton-Scott), Henrik Evensen (Team Joker Icopal), Frantisek Sisr (@CCCProTeam), Pearson (@AquaBlueSport and Gerts (@TeamRoompot).
The long individual time trial set for stage 16 was won by Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing). Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) was second followed by Tom Dumoulin (Team Sunweb). Stage sixteen was an 34,2km individual time trial running from Trento to Rovereto. The course was relatively flat, favouring the specialists. Ben King and Ryan Gibbons both put in strong rides for Team Dimension Data, finishing with times of 42:31 and 42:43. It was our young Australian, last out the block of us, who was our best placed rider finishing with a time of 41:58. He took 25th on the stage and thus maintain his position of 12th.
