Serge Pauwels and Tom-Jelte Slagter will once again spearhead our challenge in the final of the Ardennes classsics, the 258km Liège Bastogne Liège on Sunday, and as such bring the Spring classics season to a close. Also included in our line-up is Steve Cummings,Ben King, Scott Davies along with Natnael Berhane and Jacques Janse van Rensburg – who both join the team straight from the Tour of the Alps. The race has a rich history, as our image dictates and for which you can find an explanation below, but Alejandro Valverde will once again start as favourite in 2018 having won the event four times,.

The Tour of the Alps concluded today in Innsbruck with Mark Padun (Bahrain-Merida) winning the final stage, but it was Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) who won the race overall. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka had Ben O’Connor secure 7th place overall and in doing so, our young Australian also won the best young rider white jersey competition. The final stage of the Tour of Alps was another action-packed affair, packaged in a 164km route that included 3 ascents of the Olympia climb, the same climb which will be used at the 2018 World Road Race Championships. The early racing saw our Igor Anton form part of a 9.

Our hero of stage 3, Ben O’Connor, held onto 8th place in the GC and still holds the white jersey for leading the young rider’s category following stage four of the Tour of the Alps..
