Julian Alaphilippe (Quickstep-Floors) made it two for two at the Itzulia Basque Country, extending his overall lead after winning stage 2 today. Today the Team Dimension Data Continental outfit took on the UCI u23 GP Palio del Recioto in Italy and our young South African, Stefan de Bod, took an emphatic solo victory after attacking on the final climb of the race. The GP Palio del Recioto took place in Negrar, Italy and was raced over a distance of 151km. It was the 3rd time our continental team took part in this prestigious UCI u23 race, with Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier (who now rides for our World Tour outfit) finishing in 3rd place back in 2016. Tomorrow Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will start the UCI 1.HC Scheldeprijs. The 200km mid-week Flanders classic is set to be another showdown for the sprinters. The race will have the familiar flat finishing circuit in Schoten but a new 125km section in the dutch Zeeland region will be tackled beforehand. The 200km Belgian race is the midweek Flanders classic, that has traditionally separated the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix weekends.
