Edvald Boasson Hagen won an epic final stage of the Eneco Tour. Our Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka rider was able to beat his 2 final breakaway companions to the line in Geraardsbergen, Niki Terpstra (Etixx-Quickstep) and Oliver Naesen (IAM Cycling) respectively. Terpstra secured the overall title after Rohan Dennis (BMC) crashed and lost a significant amount of time.  The final stage was always poised to be the toughest of this year’s Eneco Tour as the 197km stage included 16 of the typical short steep Belgian Hellingen climbs, resembling a shorter edition of the Tour of Flanders. The start was fast as numerous riders tried.

Niccola Ruffoni (Bardiani) won the 196km GP Beghelli ahead of Filippo Pozzato (Willer-Southeast) and Jens Keukeleire (Orica-BikeExchange) in Monteveglio. The GP Beghelli started out with our African Team ready to ride in support of Mark Cavendish today. When a 7 rider breakaway went clear in the beginning stages of the race, our African Team was happy to shoulder some of the responsibility and sent Daniel Teklehaimanot to the head of the bunch to control the gap. Unfortunately though, after around an hour of racing Cavendish had to abandon the race after not feeling well since waking up this morning. From there on our African Team had.
