Steve Cummings has successfully defended the Yellow Jersey and with it the overall lead at the Tour of Britain. He came 4th in the morning time trial in Bristol and finished safely in the peloton in the afternoon stage. Cummings went into the day with a 49sec lead over Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Alpecin). And the Dutch clocked a fast time on the 15km course that was tricky to ride due to wet conditions. However, his time wouldn’t be enough to take the win on the day. Rohan Dennis (BMC) was 2sec faster, but it was Tony Martin (Etixx-QuickStep) who would win his first international TT this.

Omar Fraile rode back into the blue-dotted KOM jersey today by taking over the lead in the Mountains classification on stage 20 of the 2016 Vuelta a Espana. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka played it smart and rode attentively right from the start. The penultimate day of this year’s Spanish Grand Tour offered 5 chances to gain points for the KOM classification and it was a nail biting fight all the way down to the finish line. Fraile jumped into the days first break and countered an attack of Kenny Elissonde (FDJ), who lead the classification this morning. The Basque crossed the summit in first.
