Tough day in the office it was on stage 8 of Le Tour de France. Here are our stage impressions, courtesy of Stiehl Photography..
Stage 8 of the 2016 Tour de France would be the first big GC day of this year’s race and Chris Froome (Team Sky) showed why he is the overall favourite, by crossing the line in Bagneres-de-Luchon first. Daniel Martin (Etixx-Quickstep) finished 2nd and 3rd place went to Joaquin Rodriguez (Katusha). With 4 big categorised climbs during today’s 184km route, and the Col du Tourmalet being the first of the four, it was clear today would be a stage for the climbing purists and GC contenders. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka were active in the first 60km of the stage, just before the Tourmalet, as.
Steve Cummings went and did another “Stevo”, a solo escape to win stage 7 of the Tour de France. Gruber Images lapped it all it with these great shots..
