Jarlinson Pantano (IAM Cycling) won the shortened final stage of the Tour de Suisse. In the select group sprint, Sergey Chernetski (Katusha) finished 2nd and Jon Izaguirre (Movistar) was 3rd. By finishing in the front group, Miguel Angel Lopez won the 2016 Tour de Suisse overall. With real inclement weather lurking around, the extreme weather protocol had to take affect and the final stage of the Tour de Suisse was shortened to just 57km. Riders had a 25km slight downhill run to the foot of the Fluelapass which was then a tough 13km ascent before descending all the way to the finish line in Davos..

The Tour of Slovenia came to a close with Alexander Porsev (Katusha) winning the final stage from a bunch gallop. Rudiger Selig (Bora-Argon 18) finished 2nd and our Italian sprinter, Kristian Sbaragli crossed the line in Novo Mesto in 3rd place. Starting under grey skies in Rogaska Slatina, the peloton began the final 179km stage to Novo Mesto with a bunch sprint in the back of every team’s mind. 5 riders tried their luck with an early breakaway attempt and they were able to gain a 4-minute lead at one stage but Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka and Team Katusha were focused on bringing things.

After a big climbing day, riders took on a 18km ITT at the Tour de Suisse. See how it worked out here: http://africasteam.com/2016/06/18/tour-de-suisse-8-natnael-berhane-rides-well-to-remain-top-20-overall/.
