Fabian Cancellara (Trek-Segafredo) won the opening time trial stage of the Tour de Suisse. Jurgen Roelandts (Lotto-Soudal) took 2nd place and 3rd place went the way of Luke Dubridge (Orica-Greenedge). The 6.4km course around Baar was not one for our Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka riders with no short time trial specialists part of our African Team. At just 6.4km though, the time gaps were all but insignificant in the end as only 1 minute 43 seconds separated all 176 riders at the end of the stage. Kanstantsin Siutsou was our best placed rider on the day, ending +27″ down on Cancellara while Reinardt Janse.
Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) won the 6th stage of the Criterium du Dauphine, sprinting to the win ahead of countryman, Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale). Dan Martin (Etixx-Quickstep) led the main GC contenders home for 3rd place. Chris Froome (Team Sky) held on to the yellow leaders jersey. At 151km but including 5 categorised climbs, the stage from La Rochette to Meribel was dubbed the Queen stage of this years Criterium du Dauphine. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka began the day with the hope of defending Daniel Teklehaimanot’s polka dot jersey. With these intentions in mind, the stage began with Teklahaimanot attacking from the gun. Numerous.
