The E3 Harelbeke was our first Belgian spring classic of the year. Jay Thomson proudly represented our Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka colours in the break and Stiehl Photography got a few shots of our boys in action..

Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) won the E3 Harelbeke after out foxing the World Champion, Peter Sagan (Tinkoff), in a 2-man finish. Ian Stannard (Team Sky) brought a select group home to claim the final podium placing. For Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka it would be our first Belgian spring classic of the year. Jay Thomson quickly found his rhythm on the small, rough and technical Belgian roads as he rode across to the early break of the day. Our South African strongman was with 7 other riders out front as they built up a lead of just over 5 minutes. Etixx-Quickstep was the team in.

Wout Poels won the 5th stage of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya after attacking his breakaway companions in the final kilometers of the stage. Dario Cataldo (Astana) was 2nd and Gaeten Bille (Wanty Groupe Gobert) placed 3rd. What looked like a standard small group sprint stage today, turned into one of the hardest stages of the race as it took close on 100 kilometers for the break to form. The constant attacking in the early part of the stage really took it out of the peloton and so when the break did go, they quickly got a 4-minute lead and there was only 60km left to.
