On stage 17 of the 2014 Vuelta a Espana, Eritrean Daniel Teklehaimanot managed to get into a small but strong breakaway group of 5 riders that threatened to make it to the finish before the chasing pack. John Degenkolb (Giant-Shimano) won the sprint on the 17th stage of the Vuelta a Espana.
